Garage Sale Finds

Happy Sunday! My day started bright and early taking Aaron to the airport. It was sad to see him go because I know he was very stressed about it. His trip is right in the middle of all of our housing things being due. It really is a terrible time, but hopefully he gets to San Diego and can enjoy his time!

I am off to a bridal shower in a bit for one of my bridesmaids sister. She has been with her fiancé since middle school, and are finally getting married! I couldn’t be happier for them, and that I get to see all of them today!!

Yesterday, my mom and I went to garage sales. I mentioned how I love them, and  yesterday didn’t disappoint! The first one we went to was terrible, though. I wish I would’ve taken pictures (blogger fail!) The front door had a sign that said “enter at our own risk.” Great way to start. Signs were plastered everywhere warning us they weren’t responsible for injuries. I’m not sure what was supposed to be going on there, but my mom and I quickly left (I was nervous to buy anything from that house anyway!)

Luckily, we scored at all the other garage sales. We went to a few single ones, and then an entire plan had one. Here are some of my finds.

How awesome are these signs? One of is Pittsburgh at night, and the other of Consol Energy Center (where the Penguins play!). Aaron loved them, and I can’t wait to frame them and put them up in our house! Smile

I was so excited to find all of these board games! Did you know they are super expensive in the stores? We were going to register for some, but a game of Apples to Apples was over $20! These were all $2 or less! Bargain shopper right here!

For some reason our new house doesn’t have a microwave. All other appliances are brand new (kitchen was redone last year), but just minus a microwave. I scored this baby for $1! It totally works, too! It might not be exactly what we want (strength wise), but for now, it will totally work!

Canisters, a Brita, and wine glasses. All for less than $5! shelves

I thought these would look nice in our room, and I also bought the letters that spell LOVE at a garage sale (they were wrapped up, though) which I hope looks great with this!

All of my finds cost me less than $20, maybe even $15! This is why I love garage sales!!

The rest of my day was spent with a long run (more on that tomorrow, and a giveaway!), followed by quality time with Aaron, and obviously a trip to Frozen Yogurt. Good news, everyone! Aaron’s sister convinced him to try chocolate (for what reason he hasn’t, I’m not sure!), and he loved it! This would be good because Aaron would never go get Fro Yo with me!! He always said he didn’t like it. Now he says this was “secret special chocolate” and told me he will go back to this place only. Challenge accepted.

How cute are Aaron and Roman matching! Not even planned!

Alright folks, have a great rest of your Sunday!

1. What is your favorite song right now?

2. Do you go healthy on the fro yo toppings, or like me and load it up with cookies?

3. Which game from above is your favorite or have you played before? Some are new to me!

  1. Wow! Great finds! Especially the board games! You can never have too many of those 🙂

  2. I love that you found such good deals at garage sales! I need to go to garage sales with my fiance and find some good deals for our house!

I usually go with granola or some type of nuts as my topping on frozen yogurt, just because those are my favorite toppings. I don’t like most chocolates, so that takes out a lot of the candy toppings for me.

I love that you got so many games! I love board games, and I grew up playing them with my family all of the time. Ryan and I registered for a ton of games, but you are right, they are way too expensive! I’m not sure what my favorite game would be that you got. I always love Pictionary, but it looks like you got Pictionary Man, and I have never heard of that. I also really enjoy Apples to Apples and Clue!

I totally can relate to the chocolate! I’m not a huge chocolate lover. I can eat things with it but I wouldn’t crave it or go after it !

Aaron and I meant to register for them and when we went to, our scanner died and we never went back lol I’m glad we didn’t though!! I thought this was a good collection for now 🙂

  3. Board games for $2??! I’d be in heaven! I adore board games and probably spent a fortune on my collection so far. I’ve played all those games that you found and thought they were all great. I don’t usually go to garage sales, but I might just have to start looking in to them….

I love garage sales! I would have probably not gone to the one with warning signs, that’s creepy! I got a really nice walnut book shelf at a garage sale for 20 and things half as nice are easily over 100 at most stores.

  5. Are you joking me with all those board games? Maybe I need to start garage sale shopping in PA!

  6. I’d say you made out pretty good!! I mean $1 for a microwave? that’s almost unheard of!!! Love all the board games too. Joshua and I are huge board and card game players so we can never get enough!

  7. Okay, this is like the luckiest garage sale finds I’ve ever seen! All those board games are expensive! And I did pay $20 for my apples to apples! That’s insane. Games come in handy when you start to entertain, so that’s really great that you got all those. I wish I had more board games.

P.S. I am kidnapping you for my next garage sale hunt!
