Just what I needed #MIMM

This was a pretty marvelous weekend; mostly because of how little I had to do! From Friday after work to Sunday night, it was a really relaxing weekend, which is what I needed!

After work, I headed to my parent’s house to see my mom before she left. Though I will miss her this week, and know the 3 hour difference is hard, I just hope she is having a great time!

I followed that up with my grocery shopping! I planned out our meals during school so I knew exactly what I needed. I really enjoyed going on Friday and beating the crowds, and having it done for the weekend!

The rest of the night included making some buffalo chicken roll up (not so great) dinner, followed by a Breaking Bad marathon with Aaron and Benson on the couch. It was exactly what I needed after my long week. I ended the night with a little reading in bed, and fell asleep on the early side. Amazing.

Aaron and I planned on heading out for a run at 8:30. I woke up at 8, and saw the temp was 43 degrees. Being I have weather induced Asthma, I chose to wait a bit longer until it reached at least 50, so I let Aaron sleep and grabbed a small bowl of cereal. Around 9ish, it had warmed up and the sun came out, so I headed out for my run, where Aaron followed soon after to join me!

I refueled with a delicious homemade pizza. Mmm, paired with an apple- delicious!

Soon after, Aaron headed down to Deep Creek with my dad to take the boat to get fixed in the afternoon, so I spent the day crossing off items on my to- do list. I had so many, but I busted through it! It even included some shopping at the mall, where I managed to not find what I wanted, but found some cute workout shirts at Gap (pictures to come) and random things at Target (connected to the mall.. good and bad at the same time!). P.S. For all of you who have been blogging about Diet Coke, I am not craving it! It’s the only pop I like, and I never enjoy any. However, I was feeling tired while shopping, and it sounded amazing, so I enjoyed it Smile

Once Aaron came home, we made some dinner, made a Crab Dip, some Salted Chocolate Chip Caramel Bars , and pumpkin spice cookies before his family came over! Well, just his siblings, and Matt joined us. We ended up having a bonfire which was a blast.

Oh, and we caught the grass on fire! Who even knew this could happen? I think we have a permanent spot for our fire pit, now Winking smile

see that black under the fire?

This was the busiest day of our weekend, but still wasn’t bad. I managed to have a relaxing morning with blogging and tea, followed by church with Aaron. Right before we left, Aaron picked Benny up and I saw this..

wet benson

Ha.. he looks like a porcupine! He really just enjoys jumping on our sink in the bathroom and laying down. Aaron decided to turn the water on this time; rude.

We quickly headed to my parent’s because my dad was waiting for us to help him cut some wood for our desk (it’s slowly but surely coming together!). I love that my dad is so great with tools, and has them all to cut wood! This would be a huge problem, and I wouldn’t be able to have this desk if he didn’t have the tools! I spent the afternoon painting the wood, while Aaron suffered through the Steeler game. Maybe next year, Steelers.

After heading to his families for dinner, I finished up painting the second coat, packed some lunches, prepped dinner for tomorrow, and then enjoyed some time relaxing!

Ended the weekend with this beautiful sunset. Amazing.

What relaxing things did you do this weekend?

What’s your favorite kind of pop when you indulge in one?

  1. Sounds like a great weekend! I occasionally crave the “burn” of a diet coke but usually end up going club soda instead. I slept A LOT this weekend and that was just what I needed!

I am not a fan of Club soda, but after a few diet cokes, and the bloated feeling, I think I’m done for a while! lol

  2. I had quite a relaxing weekend too. Filled with running and a Dexter Season 2 marathon-session!
My cat loves water and always jumps into the bath after we’ve had one and rolls around in the drops of water that are left in the bottom of the bath. I’m not sure she’d be too impressed if we turned the tap on on her though!

Dexter.. hmm I haven’t heard much about that. Wonder if that’s a new show I’ll be adding to my list! I didn’t think he would like the water, but apparently he does! He definitely loves the shower when we are done, but typically stays free of the streams of water!

  3. Relaxing weekends are the best! That’s how it was for me too. I went shopping with my mom on Saturday and yesterday our friend came over for a visit. It was great!

  5. Salted chocolate chip caramel bars. Holy cow. I love grocery shopping on Friday nights. The stores are usually empty and I’m able to enjoy my weekend doing other things! It’s so cute that you and Aaron are so close with your families- that’s exactly why I want to move back (close to) home next year after I graduate!

I love that you want to move home! I can’t imagine living far away from family.. I struggled during college with them a few hours away!

  6. Ha Ha- porcupine or not, your little guy is still adorable. I actually thought you of yesterday while Joshua and I were in London. There were so many Steelers fan out & about while we were there. Sorry to hear about their loss… again =(

  7. Benny always looks so adorable!! Bonfires are always fun!! Minus the burning the lawn part….I just relaxed and caught up on shoes with the bf, it was exactly what I needed 🙂

  8. My hubby was able to get out of work early on Friday (he works 2nd shift), so we met up at my parent’s home….and, had our first fall bonfire of the season. We absolutely love bundling up, sipping some apple cider, and indulging in the occasional s’more. Sounds like you had a great, relaxing weekend, as well!

  10. Sounds like a perfect weekend! And I actually don’t like sodas at all. I used to when I was younger, but since I have gone without drinking them for so long, they taste disgusting to me now. But I was a Dr. Pepper fan. 🙂
