Weekend Getaway + First Week teaching Group Fitness

How is it that during the week I think of a million and one things I want to talk to you about, but come Thursday night when I write this post, I can’t think of any! Well, I can, but just not all the ideas I had floating around Smile

1. This weekend we are going away to Seven Springs! It is a mountain about an hour away, but has a lot more than just snowboarding and skiing. Our friends have a relative who own a place up there, and invited us to go for the weekend. There will be 4 couples and I cannot wait!

2. I taught three Sculpt classes this week and absolutely loved them all! I have been playing around with how I like to teach things, which is a little bit different than the person before me did it. Wednesday I did more of an interval sculpt class that had more cardio. It was similar to this one. The class loved it! Well, minus the burpees, but isn’t that true for everyone? Winking smile I had multiple modifications so I wasn’t too worried about it. I am thinking of what to do on Monday now. Also, finding new music is awful to me (I just don’t keep up with it) so leave me any of your song favorites!

3. Aaron and I have been married for over 10 months (holy cow; time flies!). Before we got married, I swore I wouldn’t be one of those people waiting a year to order pictures from the wedding. Except, well, I am. Oops! We are trying to get our butt in gear and finish off the order. We have a large canvas to order, a flip book with 75 pictures, and our coffee table book. Guess we should get a move on, right?! We started Monday, finished 3 of the 12 categories, and pretty much have 75 pictures already. This is going to be a long process! On the bright side; I have absolutely loved reliving the day!

Some of my favorites.

4. We had life group at our house last night, and I decided to have a taco bar. Honestly, it was the simplest thing, and I think cheaper than buying ingredients for an appetizer! We also had cake mix dip, which is cool whip, cake mix, and yogurt. So easy, so delicious.

5. Only 7 more days of school! 5 more with students, and Monday is a pretty big day. They have their final presentations for the 3rd grade class (I teach 4th) on states they have been researching for the last month or so. I am excited to see how it all plays out because I know they will be great! However, I am ready for a chill last week of school, and being off for the summer. I don’t have any concrete summer jobs at all, but you know, I’m kind of embracing it. I have a few things (actually it’s like a mile long list) I want to do for the blog, and I’m ready to have time to do it.

What are you doing this weekend?

How long did it take you to get your wedding pictures?

  1. OMG, cake mix dip and animal crackers! Sounds amazing. PS Stauffer’s animal crackers (made in PA) are superior to all others 🙂

So exciting that you are teaching classes now! Have a great weekend away!

My mom is coming home to visit this weekend and I CANNOT WAIT!

Have an absolutely amazing time with your mom! I can’t wait to hear about it!

  2. Have fun on your weekend getaway! I have a girl’s night plan, so I’m ready for 5 o’clock!

  3. I tried to get on getting our wedding pictures as quickly as possible, and that took about 6 months still! And then they sat for another month until I put them in albums and frames, and now we have had the framed pics sitting around for several months… One day that will happen! As long as it happens, it doesn’t matter how long it takes–and then they will be done and you’ll never think of how long it took again!

I had pictures immediately printed and they are all over the house. It’s just the actual albums and things from the photographer that haven’t happened yet. First it was getting settled, then it was something else then it was me studying for afaa then the deck, ahh things just don’t stop coming!

  4. Aren’t teaching classes so much fun? I loved it and miss it. I hope I can get back into t some time. Your flowers from your wedding are beautiful!

Now that you have your new house, you can decide exactly where they will go first 🙂

  8. Absolutely love how colorful your wedding pictures are! Some of my favorite songs right now are: Dizzy Daisy Oliver Nelson Remix by Portland, Am I Wrong by Nico & Vinz, Rude by Magic!, and Sleeping With A Friend by Neon Trees.
And that getaway sounds like so much fun!! Enjoy this weekend 🙂
I’m just working on more wrap bracelets for the shop, if I have time some skateboarding, and a much needed Skype date with my boyfriend 🙂

Aww thanks. I am now going to put those songs on my list! Thanks so much!

  9. Congrats on teaching your first group fitness class! I’ve been loving group fitness lately and really enjoy working out with other people.

I recently got married in March and still haven’t received my wedding photos soon. I’m feeling really anxious to get them so I can print them on canvases and finally have something up on my bare walls!

  10. We’ve been married for almost 3 years, and I still only have one framed photo from our wedding. Our photographer gifted us a giant photo book that contains tons of them, but yeah, I never really ordered any.

    • Fit N Cookies says:

I need to get that big photo book made, haha. I feel I would at least feel accomplished of having some then! haha

  11. Enjoy your getaway! We’re getting together with friends this weekend to watch the Stanely Cup Finals. Go Rangers! Or Kings! Since my team is out of it, I’m not sure who to cheer for 😉

  12. What a fun time of the year! Happy LAST week!!! And I hope you’re currently enjoying your time away with friends. Girl, we waited almost 3 YEARS to order our album…oops! The only good thing about it was that I loved looking back and remembering the day. But, I guess I could’ve still done that if I’d had the album all along. Ha!

Tacos for the win! Always quick, cheap, easy, and a crowd pleaser!

Woo I am not feeling so bad with 3 years 😉 haha I just love to look at them anyway, and with everything we’ve had going on, I probably wouldn’t have ever looked at it until now anyway!

  13. Burpees are EVIL!
How quick has that time gone since you got married?! We’re on countdown to our wedding now. Two months tomorrow… :S I’m so excited about looking through all of the photos afterwards. I’d like to think we’ll order them quite quickly after the date of the wedding but knowing me, it’ll probably end up being 10 months too!

  14. Yay! Glad you are loving teaching, I bet they love you too! Wish I could have gone to one of your classes….maybe someday!

Those wedding pics are beautiful, and SO fun! I love your colors! And I think that makes it more fun ordering it now as you can relive it again when you get them 🙂
