This weekend was a good one. It felt quite long, actually, but that just made it even better. Friday night was spent outside finishing the frame for the deck. Everything is complete except the decking boards laid on top and screwed in! We are hoping this week it can get done! We spent Saturday morning finishing up little things outside before heading out to buy all 100 pieces of lumbar- just for the top of the deck! This deck is going to be quite large, and we can’t wait to have people over and hang out.
Later that afternoon, we took the T (Pittsburgh’s light rail system- pretty much a subway but above ground) down to Heinz Field where our friends were all tailgating. Usually Kenny Chesney comes to Heinz Field and it’s a huge tailgate and a lot of fun.
This year, Luke Bryan came instead, and after debating for a while, I decided not to buy a ticket. That didn’t mean we weren’t going to tailgate! It was a crazy scene, but we had fun! We weren’t down there for too long, and I quickly remembered why I am not in that party scene, but it was fun to see our friends and not have to worry about anything like rides and what not. We came home and spent the remainder of the night on the couch watching Modern Family. It was a perfect way to relax for the night.
Sunday began with church and then we headed over to the in-laws to see my brother, Andrew, and his fiancé, Cait, get married! The wedding was supposed to be back in May with just the two of them, but then they pushed it back to yesterday and invited the immediate family. It was truly a perfect day for them. The ceremony was done under a large tree in the front yard by a fantastic pastor. He really knew just what to say and had beautiful words for them. They each wrote their own heartfelt vows before officially becoming husband and wife! I am thrilled to have another sister in the family, and excited for them to experience how amazing married life is! Congratulations Andrew and Cait!
With my darling husband
