Andrew and Cait Get Married!

Hi guys!

This weekend was a good one. It felt quite long, actually, but that just made it even better. Friday night was spent outside finishing the frame for the deck. Everything is complete except the decking boards laid on top and screwed in! We are hoping this week it can get done! We spent Saturday morning finishing up little things outside before heading out to buy all 100 pieces of lumbar- just for the top of the deck! This deck is going to be quite large, and we can’t wait to have people over and hang out. photo 1

Later that afternoon, we took the T (Pittsburgh’s light rail system- pretty much a subway but above ground) down to Heinz Field where our friends were all tailgating. Usually Kenny Chesney comes to Heinz Field and it’s a huge tailgate and a lot of fun.

This year, Luke Bryan came instead, and after debating for a while, I decided not to buy a ticket. That didn’t mean we weren’t going to tailgate! It was a crazy scene, but we had fun! We weren’t down there for too long, and I quickly remembered why I am not in that party scene, but it was fun to see our friends and not have to worry about anything like rides and what not. We came home and spent the remainder of the night on the couch watching Modern Family. It was a perfect way to relax for the night.

Sunday began with church and then we headed over to the in-laws to see my brother, Andrew, and his fiancé, Cait, get married! The wedding was supposed to be back in May with just the two of them, but then they pushed it back to yesterday and invited the immediate family. It was truly a perfect day for them. The ceremony was done under a large tree in the front yard by a fantastic pastor. He really knew just what to say and had beautiful words for them. They each wrote their own heartfelt vows before officially becoming husband and wife! I am thrilled to have another sister in the family, and excited for them to experience how amazing married life is! Congratulations Andrew and Cait!

  1. I always love simple weddings. We only had our immediate family at ours as well. They truly do make a beautiful match. So fun that she dressed up her dress w/ blue high heels!

She said they were her comfiest shoes! ha I’m not sure I would call them comfy, but they definitely represented her!

  2. I want a very simple, waterfront wedding. Surprised? ;) But anyways, I WANT YOUR DRESS. Seriously, you have some of the best clothes. This looks like a great wedding and a perfect weekend. The best way to go into a new week :)

  3. Congratulation to your brother! That’s so sweet :) My sisters threw my first baby shower this weekend; it was so fun getting to see family and play silly shower games!

  4. i am going to be a debbie downer, but i saw on the news this morning the mess left after that concert. it amazes me how lazy people are and cannot use a garbage bag.
on the up side, that is awesome your brother got married in the yard and his wife’s shoes are great, i love it.
my last concert was the head and heart a few weeks back at the A&E.

I saw the mess, too, but you know they don’t have garbage cans for easy access at all, so it’s also the fault of the parking lot. I don’t want garbage to be sitting in my car while I’m at a concert and leaking all over, but without garbage cans, what can you do? I get using a garbage bag, and people should do that. I’m just happy to report I wasn’t one of the ones leaving anything behind :)

      • what an uproar that whole tailgating issue caused with Pgh people! I specifically came back here to say, Had I known how much they charged to park in that lot, and it was only one lot that was trashed, I would not have made that comment at all! lol. Now, I understand the media totally blew that story up. : )

  5. Love the dress and blue heels! Sounds like a great weekend. I can’t wait to see the finished deck!
I did some random household things, worked out, and basically vegged out this weekend. It was awesome!

  6. Heather! It is so good to be back and able to read blogs again. I was gone for a week, and then didn’t have Internet for a week so I was unable to blog or really read many. It sounds like you had such a good weekend. Congratulations to Aaron’s brother and his wife!

  8. I love weddings- big or small! I love country, but I’m actually not a huge Luke Bryan fan. Tailgating sounds like so much fun!

I like a few of his songs, but I’m not a die hard. It’s more for the fact that his concert was the “big one” of the season with it being at the stadium.

  9. Oh what a lovely way to get married! I love how sweet and quiet it was but that they still let you be a part of it :) Congrats to them and to you for almost finishing up the deck!!

It was just a perfect wedding for them! It’s crazy how everyone wants different things for a wedding :) haha

  10. Congrats to your brother and new sister-in-law! I love some Luke Bryan, so I totally would have been there haha!

  11. Ok, first of all – tailgating is really where most of the fun happens anyway.
Secondly, I love that your brother’s wedding was small and intimate. I love a good wedding, but sometimes the small, intimate ones are really the most special. Congrats to them both!

And I think you owe us a picture of that deck… ;-)
