Jenn’s Maternity Photos

I can’t remember a time when a camera wasn’t attached to me. Taking pictures (usually too many) is one of my favorite things to do, and my computer hard drive full of them will prove it to you. There are more photos taken at a simple family get together than some people have in a few years. It’s just me, and I don’t mind it. It’s always been “my thing” and my family can always count on me to document the occasion. Whether it’s a day at the beach, a night on the boat, or just getting together with the family, I will have a picture for it.

By no means am I a “photographer.” I will leave that to a few of my friends Winking smile I just like to document special times and have pictures to look back on. Taking pictures, to me, is just a hobby. Who doesn’t think it’s fun to look back on old ones?  There’s nothing better than finding pictures you forgot about; they make me smile every.single.time.

Though I’m not a photographer, I have a nice camera (Canon Rebel T4i) that takes great pictures. I have recently started to learn more about the manual mode, instead of using automatic. I’m able to give pictures a new focus, and make the pictures unforgettable.

One of my favorite pictures.

When my cousin, Jenn, told me she was pregnant, I immediately thought I could take some maternity shots of her, just as a keepsake. Everyone in my family knows I love tons of pictures (actually my wedding photographer knew this too and the only wedding with more pictures shot was her daughters.. oops!) and Jenn does, but not to the effect I do. I was so excited when she asked me to take some of her (she mentioned something like “I don’t want many, just maybe 10 or so).

We chose June 15 in hopes that it would be a nice day, but if not, there was time before she was due. We lucked out with a beautiful day; cool morning but sun. It was actually a little too sunny, but we made it work.

I had the best time looking at the shots they wanted, and then taking the pictures. When I got home and uploaded them to the computer, I realized I had a bit too much fun as I had over 500 pictures to look through and edit! I didn’t waste any time and started editing Jenn’s pictures as I just couldn’t wait (her friends aren’t edited yet or I would share them, too!). Here’s a peek into some of my favorites!

Thank you! It was a fun time to get them done, and she put some up at her shower which was cool to see.

  10. Some beautiful photos! I love the one with the heart on her belly and the little shoes!
I love taking photos and looking through photos from old events. I wish digital cameras had been around when I was younger and I’d taken many more photos.
