Food and Fitness: The week before vacation

The week before vacation is always a “eat everything up” kind of week, right? We plan to make the most of the food in the freezer before we leave on Saturday!

Sunday: Dinner at parents

Monday: Crab Alfredo

Tuesday: Flatbread pizza

Wednesday: Salsa chicken

Thursday: Pulled Pork leftovers

Friday: Fourth of July Party

Saturday: Vacation!!

Sunday: Rest day, as usual.

Monday: Taught Body Sculpt. I incorporated a bit more cardio into it, and everyone seemed to love it! A few people told me they really enjoyed it, and the faces of others showed me it made them work.

Tuesday: Supposed to teach Insanity for someone, but no one ever came to the class. I looked at the paper and she didn’t have anyone last week, either, so I didn’t feel too bad. I ended up doing the warm up for that, 20 minutes on the stepper/elliptical machine, and a 4 mile run outside.

Wednesday: Taught Interval Sculpt class

Thursday: 5 Mile Run- 2.5 on the treadmill waiting for my dad and Aaron to get back from getting wood and 2.5 was outside on the trail.

Friday: I wanted to get in a workout before we started working on the deck, but it didn’t happen. I did teach the yoga class Friday night. It went ok. I personally enjoyed it as I needed to take some time to slow down and practice breathing and stretching. I tried to add in core work, too, but they didn’t seem to like it. Oh well, I did what I could!

Saturday: Long run never happened. We were up early finishing the deck (more tomorrow!) and then I went out on the boat with my brother and his friends for a little. When I got home, the thought did cross my mind, but I was starving and wanted to get my house cleaned up. It has been a disaster with tracking in dust and just tools everywhere. It felt great to get it cleaned up, and left me feeling better than a run would have.

Sunday: I might get that run in today, but who knows. I really am not forcing it. I know that my body has worked extremely hard bringing all the decking boards up and moving furniture/ building the deck the last few days, and could probably use a rest. I’m ok with letting that happen!

There you have it! Have a great week, my friends!

Total miles run this year—> 341 miles

  1. Definitely an “eat everything you can so stuff doesn’t go bad” week! 😉 Where are y’all going on vacation?

I love that although you are very dedicated and enjoy your workouts, you don’t force them and if life happens instead- like going on the boat (!!) – you roll with it.

Can’t wait to see that deck!

I haven’t always been that way, and it’s still a struggle sometimes, but I’m really trying to focus on living life and not let life pass me by!

We are going to Deep Creek Lake in Maryland next week with my dad’s family 🙂

  2. Seems like a great week of workouts! I am all for skipping a workout to do something productive/fun instead 🙂
