Happy Birthday, Dad!

Today happens to be someone very special’s birthday: My Dad! I take after him in so many ways, and would be totally lost without him. From his help with my lack of technology skills, assistance problems that arise anywhere, stress relief tips, boat driver, and being my ice cream partner to just being the perfect dad who is always there for me. I’m so proud of all he has accomplished in the part year with his arm and know he will be making even more progress in the upcoming year.

Thanks for being the best dad you could ever be to me, and I wish you many more years of happiness. Love you, dad!

Sunday: Insanity class.

Monday: In bodysculpt, I focused on each body part separate. I added in lots of pulses, isometric holds, and speed changes. These are sure fire ways to get different muscles moving, and I loved challenging the class.

Tuesday: So the class I’ve been teaching at school has no windows. After school I went to change to head to the park and run, only to get outside and see it pouring down rain. I took it to the treadmill, but my 5 miles were not very easy at all. I know I stepped off the treadmill one too many times. Oh well, I got it in.

Wednesday: Interval Sculpt. This class was on fire! We did a HIIT workout (I’m going to share it with you very soon!) for the first part of class, and finished off with some Tabatas. I kept the rest very minimal so we worked as hard as we could. Our heart rates were high and sweat was dripping! Loved it!

Thursday: Waking up early the day after I teach to get a run in just doesn’t work well. It can be done, but it usually hurts my legs more than anything, so I avoid it (being that it’s less than 12 hours from when I last taught, I don’t want to push it!). I had a dr appt after school, so I knew I couldn’t get to the track to do my 6×800. Actually, I had no intentions to even get a run in, but I was in a {not so} great mood after the doctors, meaning I needed to run. I did a 30 minute HIIT run on the treadmill. It was 5 minute warm up, 45 second sprint, 45 second recover, and 5 minute cool down. I was so out of breath.

Friday: rest

Saturday: 7 miles. I woke up and it was 42 degrees. Um, ouch! I didn’t know we skipped fall and went to winter. After a bit of readjusted the clothes I was wearing, I headed out. I am always nervous for the first time in the cool digits as my asthma acts up, but  was good! I had no problems and finished in a fast time. I felt good except my feet. I wore heels to work on Friday and then out Friday night, and my feet hurt pretty bad. No worries, though. I finished!

I came home and finished with some yoga for runners. It proves that I need to do it more than once in a while. Ouch!

Sunday: I’m aiming for a 3 mile shake out run! I’m not teaching Insanity today because we had a wedding last night and stayed at a hotel. Shake out runs are done at a slower pace for me and I use them just to get my legs moving and grooving, haha.
